Amazing curves

November 27th 2007 01:17
How often do we see full hips and curves in fashion editorial?

I haven't seen a curved woman in fashion media for a long time. When I saw this image, I stopped for some minutes to marvel at how sensational the woman looks. It's a beautiful image. She's a beautiful, natural woman.

I wish we had more images like this surrounding us, not only for the aesthetic effects but also so younger girls can learn that curves are precious, real and most women have them! They are not something to be denied, ignored and shaken out of society. Our hips are the swaying, rhythmic instinct behind our womanhood!

The picture shows us that curvy women don't need to hide their hips. Showing them off creates a magnetic pull to those in the visual vicinity. If this image pulled me in, I can only imagine the effects on a man...

The images comes from a NY Times slideshow of black cocktail dresses where the other women have straight-up-and-down figures, so this woman is definitely a treat for the eyes. She looks the most amazing out of the 14 images for the deliciousness of her curves. Do you agree?

Lidia - You're right, she looks absolutely fantastic. I can't believe that it was actually in an article. Hips are normally outlawed in photo shoots!!! As in fashion, apparently women aren't supposed to have curves!!!!

I know it's almost surreal because of its rarity...my jaw dropped when I saw this image.

Stunning.

I'm amazed she made her way in too - but very glad she did! If only all media representations of women were like this.

She's still slim though... Slim with wide hip bones. Therefore I don't really see this as being part of the weight-and-society issue. She just has an unusual figure and bone structure for a model.

But yes, she looks great -- very feminine and lovely. Good stuff!
