Cheap shoes are red hot
April 4th 2008 04:26
I hate to admit it but these shoes were only $10. I don't like telling you the price because I'd prefer you to think that they are designer shoes that cost me a fortune and, therefore, that's why they look so good.
Yet the truth is, they are cheap shoes that look absolutely fantastic (in my opinion) and are so comfortable. My gosh, right at this minute I'm selling on eBay a pair of pricier flats I bought last year that are full leather - upper, lining and sole - which frankly killed my feet on the two occasions I wore them. How can that be? How can "good" shoes made with great materials rub my feet the wrong way?
As with anything in life - our men, our outfits, our goals, our desires, our hobbies, our hairstyles - it's either for you or not for you. My new little red shoes were made for me. They do not pinch, rub or squeeze me the wrong way. They express a part of my personality which is vibrant and playful. They brighten up my outfits. I love them!
The shoe moral here is to not let yourself get caught up in the cost of something. Sometimes expensive shoes don't look or work better than cheaper ones. Sometimes, obviously, luxury shoes can be gorgeous and well-fitting. It's all about picking the look and fit that's you.
Honestly, though, when it comes to ballerina flats can you tell the difference between a $400 pair of Louboutin's, Marni's or Marc Jacob's to a $10 pair like these? I think women on small budgets can look as sexy and as stylish as women with big budgets. It's all in the eye. The eye of style and of knowing yourself.
And check out how my cheap shoes are adorably lined!
