Laser, not the razor?

I have been thinking about getting laser hair removal on my bikini line but I am concerned about what laser really does to us. To be honest, I am worried that laser in this region can affect my fertility.
All my research shows that it's very safe as the laser only penetrates the top layer of skin and does not reach any internal organs but I still can't help feeling some concern. I guess because having babies is very important to me and I would hate to do anything that puts that at risk.
My friends think I should not be concerned about it, but I'd like to hear people's opinions on this.
I know the benefits of laser hair removal are fantastic - my gosh, never again having to bend over yourself to get the little buggers of hair out is the biggest one I can think of!
What do you know about laser? Have you thought about the potential side effects of this relatively new technology?

If a laser could penetrate deeper than your skin, it'd burn the tissue, and it would have to be a LOT more powerful to do that.
I'd say it's pretty safe. Expensive, though...

In what way do you work with lasers?
