No more trying on undies!

I spent $60 on lace knickers, brought them home, tried them on and they were NOT for me! Don't you hate it when you try on underwear that just pushes your thighs out in a way they shouldn't be pushed out or cuts into your bottom like a knife through a pancake. That's why I like to try them and make sure I have the right fit.
Well it seems Myer no loner accepts returns or exchanges on underwear. There are no signs in the store so how was I to know when I went to get a refund on my dud underwear that their store policy had changed. To cut a long story short, the shop assistant took pity on me and decided to refund my money because she believed me when I said I was unaware of the new policy.
"Can I try the underwear in the store fitting rooms before I buy?" I asked curiously.
"No, the only underwear you can try are bras and girdles," she explained.
Well I'm not quite at the girdle stage yet but this is reassuring for when I'm 50. What a strange policy. What's wrong with trying undies on before you buy them, especially when you try them on over your own undies? And when you take them home, everyone knows it's best to give them a wash before you wear them!
I will now have to buy my undies from elsewhere because I can't afford to buy undies that don't fit right, or do as I did today...I took some bras and undies into the fitting room. I did try the undies on. Of course, I did. And both pairs were duds. So there you go, that would have been another $30 down the drain had I bought them without trying them on.
This post has given me inspiration for tips on good undie fits...because what you wear under skirts, dresses and pants will either mask bumps and lumps or accentuate them. Coming soon...
