Olive Oil, Oh My!
February 18th 2008 03:52
The big "O" has entered my life and I am forever changed and indebted to the person who brought it to me.
Olive Oil - Extra Virgin - to be precise is what I'm on about and without trying, I have created a pun! I'm sure the extra virgin is what gave me the "OH!" effect.
The other day my sister told me to put olive oil on my hair as a moisturising treatment. I was complaining of damaged ends, especially so because of a recent hair salon episode that had my hair died to a bright ginger (yes, the hairdresser got it wrong). After this harsh treatment, my hair needed lots of TLC.
I applied the olive oil this morning - about 2 tablespoons of it - mainly on my mid-lengths and ends but also a small amount closer to the roots. I left it on the fro for about 20-30 minutes. I shampooed twice just to make sure excess oil didn't remain on my hair then I used conditioner as normal.
The result: OH, OH, OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
Wonderful. My hair is softer, thicker, bouncier, smoother, and is not weighed down at all...as you might think would be the result from putting oil on your hair.
I highly recommend this treatment. I used the extra virgin olive oil I cook my food with so I have saved a small fortune in buying one of those expensive salon treatments.
I am a very happy munchkin today.
My hair in this photo has no product in it. I didn't blow dry it or iron it, yet the frizz factor is so low. OH, OLIVE OIL...I love you...
