Size up your eyes

I have been using an expensive eye cream (Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair) for about 6-7 weeks now and I thought it was doing an okay job but nothing remarkable. I didn't feel like it was making my eye area fresh and revived.
Since I have transparent skin around my eyes to the point where you can see the purple-blue veins underneath - it's like a miniature world of tiny blue rivers intersecting with one another - and tiredness shows up dramatically, I really need an eye cream that removes all dark circles and plumps the skin so that the veins are less visible. Otherwise, I can look tired even when I've had plenty of sleep or like I've been in a fight where my lights have been knocked out!
I didn't want to give up on Estee nor my hefty investment by chucking the jar at back of the cupboard where other half-used lotions and potions end up because I get bored of them or they just aren't doing their stated job. Instead I decided to "up" my use of the eye cream. I doubled the amount of cream I apply. I slap on enough so that the eye area is really moist with cream and it takes at least a minute to absorb.
The difference has been remarkable which is what I wanted in the first place - a remarkable difference. Sometimes with expensive creams, we try to use minimal amounts to extend our use of them but I think we have to be a bit more liberal.
The "before" shot doesn't show all my veins because I think the flash light of the camera does something towards lightening them but you can still see the difference before and after applying the cream.
The "after" shot is taken a couple of hours after applying the cream and I'm not wearing make-up so you can get a true view of the results. If you look carefully, you can still see faint veins but I accept that I cannot erase the view of my veins but just help them settle into the background.
Before
After
Using more of this particular eye cream, I can see the full benefits of its ingredients. I think you also have to take into account how big your eye area is too. I have a fairly large eye area which makes me think I was using too little of the cream before.
